A New Creation: Gift of the Holy Spirit in New Life 2 Corinthians 5:17

Day 6:

"Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new"

2 Corinthians 5:17

Prayer,

Heavenly Father, open our hearts to fully understand what You have done.

Your Son announced a great gift in John 3:5-7 when He said to Nicodemus:

"Most certainly I tell you, unless one is born of water and spirit, he can't enter into God's Kingdom. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh. That which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Don't marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born anew'"

Nicodemus was confused. But in the first Pentecost after the crucifixion of Your Son, the Holy Spirit came to permanently indwell all who believed in Him. Instead of confusion, we have joy in the new life, in the New Covenant of the SpiritA3. By Your decree, Your people no longer live the old life under the Law of Moses. Your relationship with Your people is no longer through man's obedience of memorized commandmentsA3. In the Old Covenant they could walk with You (Micah 6:8).  But Your Holy Spirit lives within us (1 Corinthians 6:19, John 4:17, 16-26).

Our life now is a two way conversation in the spiritual realm, as we follow Christ, bearing His yoke, in the world1.4. By Your regenerating gift (Titus 3:5-6), we do what the old saints could not do under law. We walk by the Spirit!4.7 Praise to Your name. My old self has "been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me" (Galatians 2:20). That is why Paul could write "If we live by the Spirit, let's also walk by the Spirit" (Galatians 5:25).

Your Holy Spirit entered into us at first faith and made us into a new creation for intimate spiritual interaction as we carry the yoke of Christ, to make disciples, to do Your business, in the world2.3. In the Post-Pentecost Age of the Spirit, You have made Your people to be a new species of spiritual being. How amazing! How wonderful for the creator of the universe to dwell within men!

All praise to Your name!

Amen.
