In Paradise, Fellowship with God will include two way face to face conversations, as we reign under Christ forever, in the new earth.
By God's decree, the saints will inherit the kingdoms of the world, sit face to face with Christ on His throne, judge the world, judge angels and reign forever.
Inherit the Kingdoms of the World:
- "Then the King will tell those on his right hand, 'Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world" (Matthew 25:34). (From the judgement of the sheep and the Goats)
- "Blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth" (Matthew 5:5).
- "The kingdom and the dominion, and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole sky, will be given to the people of the saints of the Most High. His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions will serve and obey him" (Daniel 7:27).
Sit on Christ's Throne and Judge the World:
- "Don't you know that the saints will judge the world?" (1 Corinthians 6:2).
- "Don't you know that we will judge angels?" (1 Corinthians 6:3).
- "He who overcomes, I will give to him to sit down with me on my throne, as I also overcame, and sat down with my Father on his throne" (Revelation 3:21). Faith in Jesus overcomes (1 John 5:5).
Reign Forever:
- "The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will serve him. 4 They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. 5 There will be no night, and they need no lamp light or sun light; for the Lord God will illuminate them. They will reign forever and ever" (Revelation 22:3-5).
What will God's bondservants reign over? It is a mystery. I know of no scripture that reveals this in any express statement. But, here are some possibilities.
Rule over the physical earth and the animal kingdom could be intended. This could include the responsible mining and preservation of resources. Responsible horticulture, including giving the land its Sabbath rest is a possibility.
Maybe the saints will rule the angelic realm, both fallen and loyal. If the saints judge angels, than possibly saints will be placed above angels in the eternal state.
Then there are the damned and life on other planets, if such a thing exists.
These are some possibilities. God has chosen to keep this a mystery.
It will probably be something beyond our wildest imagination.
- "Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to him be the glory in the assembly and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen" (Ephesians 3:20).
