What Does 1 John 2:27 Mean? His anointing teaches you all things... You don't need a teacher

Day 24

"26 These things I have written to you concerning those who would lead you astray. 27  As for you, the anointing which you received from him remains in you, and you don't need for anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you concerning all things... you will remain in him." 1 John 2:26-27

My Prayer

Yahweh, my Heavenly Father, thank You for this scripture.Y I praise You for the power that is in it and thank You for what You will do through it (Isaiah 55:11). Please reveal its meaning to our minds (Psalm 119:18)...

My Heavenly Father, thank You for the anointing we received from You... Your Holy Spirit who dwells within all who believe in You. You have made it clear that it is Your Holy Spirit who teaches us "concerning all things"  (John 14:26). This is spiritual communication directly from You into the hearts of Your children. You deserve all praise!

As the verse says, we don't need a human teacher. But sometimes You give us human teachers to teach us scripture even though the Holy Spirit can teach us without working through a human teacher. But human teachers are fallible. That is why David said,

"I have more understanding than all my teachers,
for your testimonies are my meditation"
Psalm 119:991.5d(III)

Therefore, we are not to place our faith in our human teachers so that we accept everything they say. Jeremiah 17:5  says "Cursed is the man who trusts in man."

Instead of placing our faith in a human teacher, we place our faith in Your Holy Spirit to teach us. Heavenly Father, please help those who read here to believe 1 John 2:27.

"you don't need for anyone to teach you. But as  his anointing teaches you concerning all things..." (1 John 2:27).

As we listen to a human teacher, we look to Your Holy Spirit to teach us, while prayerfully "examining the scriptures" to see if the teaching is proved by the scriptures (Acts 17:11). Instead of accepting human teachers as authority for doctrine, Your word tells us to be Berean.1.5i

For every individual child of Yours, You choose what to teach each us and when to teach it. You know when we are ready. If You revealed all of Your truth at once, we we would be overwhelmed.

"I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth' (John 16:12-13).

Almost 50 years ago, You know that a man named John Ireland met with me once a week to teach me the inductive method of studying the Bible. I believe that You sent John to me. In the first meeting he said. Don't use Bible commentaries. I was shocked and asked him why. John said "You need to learn to trust the Holy Spirit to teach you directly." John had never been to seminary. He had something infinitely better. He simply trusted Your scriptures. He believed Your words in 1 John 2:27.

Some say that understanding scripture comes by finding the best teachers, studying hard or going to seminary. But the teachers in the days of the incarnation of Jesus before His crucifixion, didn't understand the scriptures. They were called Pharisees (John 1:19, 1:24, 5:33, 5:37-40, 5:33-40, 8:13, 8:47, 8:13-47). Your Son said that these religious leaders were sons of Satan (John 8:44)... they did not know You (John 8:55).

Father, please remove false teachers from the seminaries. Open the eyes of Your children to John 8:59. False teachers teach theology which they can not prove from the scriptures and then replace the plain meaning of Your word with their theology.1.5h I ask "where can I read about that doctrine in the Bible". If the teacher can give me a passage, the passage often does not prove their doctrine.

If I say that we are "saved by grace through faith and not by works" I can prove that doctrine with Ephesians 2:8-9 which says "by grace you have been saved through faith... not of works". My Lord, it seems that teachers should be able to prove their doctrines that simply. That is how I prove doctrine.

Your word tells us that understanding of scripture is a gift from You to converts with soft hearts and a willingness to obey, who receive understanding by zealously seeking it through prayerful meditation on scripture.1.5e

In order for us to have understanding, You must give it to us. You must place the truth into our minds. Understanding is a gift from You. Instead of being a mental exercise... a product of dedicated scholarship... understanding of scripture is a supernatural event! Father, teach all who read here to study prayerfully (1 Thessalonians 5:17).

You have shown me that we receive understanding of scripture by asking for it!1.5d(II)

You have shown me... if I am not having fellowship with You as I read scripture, I do not receive understanding or guidance. Father, please teach Your children how to read Your words in intimacy with You. Teach us to listen to Your Holy Spirit.1.1

In this passage, 1 John 2:27, You revealed that Your Holy Spirit is our teacher... that You open our eyes to see Your truth! Thank you for revealing this in Your word! For, how can we walk by the Spirit, if we don't know to look to Your Spirit?

Heavenly Father, teach us how to connect with the Holy Spirit as we read scripture. By Your Spirit, lead Your children to click this link: "Learning to Read"

You deserve all praise!

Amen.
