Day 3
"bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ"
2 Corinthians 10:5
Prayer
My Heavenly Father, I see in these words of Yours... that my every thought should be obedient to You, like Christ2.2.
You said "every thought". This is an intimate, continuous, spiritual fellowship involving Your Holy Spirit and scriptural prayer. You have said in 1 Corinthians 10:31, "whatever You do, do all to the glory of God." So, I see that everything I do is to bring You glory.
In the book of Revelation I read about "those who follow the Lamb wherever he goes" (Revelation 14:4). The Lamb is Your Son who was crucified, died and rose from the dead. He now sits at Your right hand. I can't see Him and neither can those who follow Him. But, without seeing physically, I can follow spiritually. I hear the voice of Christ, as Jesus said "My sheep hear my voice" (John 10:27). Thank You Father, that You communicate Your will to our minds through prayer (Colossians 1:9). As we follow the voice of Your Son, we obey His command to make disciples (Matthew 28:19).
We pray the Endorsed Prayer of Faith and You multiply our faith4.3a. As You enlarge our faith and remove our doubt, we can pray the Endorsed Prayer of Wisdom and receive wisdom4.2a. We then pray the Endorsed Prayer of Love and You multiply our love4.3e. Then we can obey the one commandment of Your Son as John wrote, " This is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another" (1 John 3:23).
As we pray these scriptural prayers, You do in me what I cannot do. All of my words can build others up and give grace. Paul wrote as You revealed to him, "Let no corrupt speech proceed out of Your mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear" (Ephesians 4:29).
As I pray these prayers, I can walk by the Spirit!
Everything that I do is to be done for, through and with You!
You have written:
- For: "whatever you do, do all to the glory of God" (1 Corinthians 10:31).
- Through: "apart from me, you can do nothing" (John 15:5).
- With: "Pray without ceasing" (1 Thessalonians 5:16).
You deserve all praise!
Amen
