Guard the Gospel Through the Power of the Holy Spirit (2 Timothy 1:14).

Day 21

"That good thing which was committed to you, guard through the Holy Spirit who dwells in us" (2 Timothy 1:14).

My Prayer

Yahweh, my Heavenly Father, thank You for this scripture.Y I praise You for the power that is in it. I thank You for what You will do through it (Isaiah 55:11). Please reveal its meaning to our minds (Psalm 119:18). For all who read here, please lead them to pray this page with me...

My Father, when I read this scripture I wondered... what is "that good thing" which was committed to Timothy? As I read and prayed the first thirteen verses of chapter one, I understood. In verses 8-13, I see that the "good thing" is the Gospel.

You entrusted Timothy with Your pure Gospel... When You told Timothy to "guard" the "good thing", You meant guard the Gospel. You wanted Timothy to keep it pure. Your Gospel in its purest, scriptural form is:

"I declare to you, brothers, the Good News (Gospel) which I preached to you... that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures" (1 Corinthians 15:1, 3-4).

My Lord, when You told Timothy guard the Gospel, You were telling Timothy... and us.... that we should present the Gospel correctly. We should defend it well.

But you told Timothy to guard the Gospel, "through the Holy Spirit". So, You don't want us to present and defend the Gospel alone, in our own strength with human wisdom (1 Corinthians 1:21).

Paul wrote:

"we do not wage battle according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses" (2 Corinthians 10:3-4).

I praise You Father, for You have told us in Your word how to wage warfare, not according to flesh, not with debating, arguing,  judgement, timidity or fear... but with weapons that are divinely powerful... scriptural prayer, which brings power, love and self control in the Holy Spirit (2 Timothy 1:3,7). When we pray with faith, we are guarding the Gospel "through the Holy Spirit".

We pray the Endorsed Prayers of Faith and Love so that You will multiply our faith and love.4.3ae Only then do we have the courage, by faith, to speak Your truth. Only then can we speak Your truth in love (Ephesians 4:15).

We pray the Endorsed Prayers for Making Disciples. The Endorsed Prayers for making disciples are prayers for unity, salvation, sending workers into the harvest, opening doors for the Gospel, spreading God's word and words for witnessing.4.4 We pray "in the Spirit".S

We pray as You instructed. The Holy Spirit responds, as He is instructed by You.

What does the Holy Spirit do? The Holy Spirit distributes spiritual giftsSG  (1 Corinthians 12:11). So, He is the one who decides who will be teachers, evangelists and pastors (Ephesians 4:11). After Your Holy Spirit chooses teachers, evangelists and preachers, Your Holy Spirit puts the words of the Gospel into their minds.4.4b He puts Your words into all Christians minds as well, if we ask for words with faith and without doubt.4.4b The Holy Spirit preaches, teaches, speaks through us, provides words for witnessing, testifies, convicts unbelievers of sin, reminds us of scripture and leads teachers, pastors, evangelists and other Christians as they make disciples.3.3

The Holy Spirit provides power to hope, comprehend, witness, guard the Gospel and do combat in the spiritual realm.3.4

The Holy Spirit regenerates, renews, sanctifies, gives life, seals and brings joy, peace and true confession. He is a conduit for gifts of Your love.3.5

So, I see that the Holy Spirit provides the people, words and power to bring about the supernatural transformation of the Gospel...

You told Timothy to guard the Gospel "through the Holy Spirit". When I see the many things that Your Holy Spirit does, I see that we can't guard the Gospel in our own power, in the flesh. Guarding the Gospel is a supernatural endeavor that You have instructed us to participate in.A3

As we pray the Endorsed Prayers, we guard the Gospel "through the Holy Spirit" and make disciples... we walk by the Spirit.

And You deserve all praise!

Amen.

In this passage, 2 Timothy 1:14, You revealed just one of the powers of the Holy Spirit... You have revealed how to guard the Gospel by the power of the Holy Spirit! Thank you for revealing this in Your word! For, how can we walk by the Spirit, if we don't know the powers of the Spirit?

Heavenly Father, teach us the powers of the Holy Spirit. By Your Spirit, lead Your children to click this link: "Power From the Holy Spirit"

You deserve all praise!

Amen.
