The Holy Spirit Teaches You All Things

Day 1

"his anointing teaches you concerning all things"

1 John 2:27

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I see that the anointing is Your Holy Spirit. Before Passover, just before Jesus was arrested and crucified, Jesus had a long conversation with His disciples in what we call The Upper Room Discourse (John 13-17). He revealed Your counselor for intimacy with You. Jesus said,

  • "I will pray to the Father, and he will give you another Counselor... You know him, for he lives with you, and will be in you... I have said these things to you while still living with you. But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things, and will remind you of all that I said to you" (John 14:16-26).

Lord, my Father, hear my praise. While on the earth, Jesus walked with the disciples and talked with them face to face. They asked Him questions and He answered them. After Jesus was crucified, He was buried, rose from the dead and ascended into Heaven. But He did not leave them alone. Shortly after His ascension, at Pentecost in about 30 AD, the Holy Spirit entered into them. And Your Holy Spirit is not mute. The Holy Spirit then taught them "all things" and reminded them of EVERYTHING that He had taught them. Your words in John 14:16-26 above said that the Holy Spirit "will teach you all things, and will remind you of all that I said to you". You have blessed us in the same wayB. 1 John 2:27 makes that clear:

  • "his anointing teaches you concerning all things" (1 John 2:27).

Thank you Father!

So, after Pentecost, fellowship with You is far more dynamic and interactive. You have replaced the Old Covenant with the New Covenant. Fellowship with You is very different from simply living by a moral code as Israel did under the Law of Moses. It is powerful, personal, pervasive, intimate and conversational. As Your Holy Spirit teaches us about all things and reminds us of all the words of Christ, we can walk by the Spirit. As You teach me "all things" and remind me of "of all" that Jesus said, there are many thoughts in my mind that are from You. All of my thoughts are not my own. Many of them are Yours. There is no fellowship in the Spirit if we don't talk.  But, help me to obey Your Spirit. There is no fellowship in the Spirit if I don't obey Your voice.  And You provide the power to obey, through prayer4.3f and the Holy Spirit.3.4

You deserve all praise!

Amen.
